Register for Convention


We are so excited that you are considering joining us this year!

Registration opens on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 and closes at midnight on Monday, January 19, 2026 — so mark your calendar in order to avoid any late fee.  Convention itself is Thursday, February 19, 2026.

We continually seek to keep costs as low as possible while providing the students with a rich and memorable experience.  This year, the fee is $15 per student for students of AATF Alabama member teachers, $20 per student for students of non-AATF Alabama member teachers, and $10 per student for schools attending for the first time. This fee funds the general functioning of the Convention (awards, prizes, and scholarship monies).  Additionally, each participant receives a student-designed Convention t-shirt, so be sure to have all your numbers/sizes handy when you go to fill out the registration form!

Late Registration Policy

Due to planning and printing constraints, late registrations create extra work for those running the Convention.  Any club registering late (after Monday, January 19, 2026) for Convention or for any competition will incur a penalty fee of $50.  Please note that the T-shirt/Program Cover Design Competition may not be entered late due to the short turn-around time for production. No late registrations or changes will be accepted after the final deadline of Monday, January 26, 2026. Thank you in advance for respecting this year’s deadline!

Cancellation & Refund Policy

A full refund is available if the cancellation occurs on or before the registration deadline. Click here to cancel if registered before January 19, 2026.

After the registration deadline, a 50% refund is available IF the club is prohibited from attending due to inclement weather.  Click here to cancel/request a refund.

If a club’s sponsor is unable to accompany the students, another teacher is encouraged to bring the registered students to Convention instead.

Registration 

There is only one (1) form to fill out.  It will walk you through the registration process for Convention and ALL competitions.  Please familiarize yourself with this form well ahead of time (right now, par exemple) so as not to be caught off-guard when you complete it.  The link to the form is at the bottom of this page.  You will notice that you must have all information ready when you register: participant count, t-shirt sizes, titles and description for oral competitions, etc. But the form should allow you to enter some data, save it, then complete/submit it later.

The University of Alabama requires their Youth Protection Program form be filled out for each individual attending.  Please print out the form here, have students, teachers, and chaperones complete the form, then email a pdf of all the forms to mshuttlesworth@homewood.k12.al.us by Thursday, February 19, 2026. University of Alabama 3rd Party Liability Release. Alternatively, you may have each participant from your school complete the Google Form that was emailed to you and verify on the accompanying Excel sheet that all your participants have submitted before French Convention. 

Payment

Your Convention registration is not complete until payment has been received.  The registration form will calculate the amount for you: $20/$15/$10 × number of students, if registering on-time.  You cannot pay online.  Please send a check* payable to the AATF Alabama Chapter at the following address:
